This payment policy applies to all clients of HBM Juristen and describes the possibilities and conditions regarding payment for the legal services provided by our firm. Our goal is to provide transparency and clarity regarding the payment obligations, so that clients have insight into the financial agreements and obligations prior to and during the process.
Different payment options are available, depending on the client's circumstances and the specific arrangements with the office. In all cases, a deposit is required.
In most cases, work is carried out on an advance basis. At the beginning of the case, the client pays an advance, based on an estimate of the work to be performed and associated costs. This advance is offset against the final cost of the case. If the advance is exhausted and further work is required, the client is informed and a new advance is requested.
If the client is entitled to financial assistance from the government, this may be an opportunity to (partially) cover the costs. The client is responsible for requesting this assistance. As long as there is no confirmation from the relevant authority that financial assistance has been granted, the client remains responsible for the payment.
The client has the opportunity to prepay the full estimated amount for the legal services at one time. In this case, no further payment requests will be made, unless it turns out that the initial amount needs to be adjusted due to unforeseen additional work. Prepayment offers the client the assurance that all costs have been paid in advance.
In certain cases, it is possible to pay in installments, subject to written approval by the office. For this, a payment schedule is drawn up, in which the total amount is paid in several agreed installments. However, the deposit remains an obligation and is part of the first installment.
For each case, the client is obliged to make a deposit. The amount of the deposit is determined based on the complexity of the case and the expected cost. The deposit is deducted from the total cost of legal services.
It is the client's responsibility to adhere to the agreed payment terms. If the client does not fulfill the payment obligation in time, the office reserves the right to suspend further work until the payment obligation is fulfilled. This may result in delays in terms or agreements in the case.
This policy can be changed or modified by HBM Juristen. We advise clients to always consult the most current version of our payment policy at the beginning of the case.
