Our opening hours will be changed.
After almost 6 years, HBM Juristen has determined that the exceptionally long hours for free legal advice have achieved their goal: making direct legal consultation accessible to people with no or low income, regardless of the day or time.
High usage volume
During this period, considerable daily use was made of this service. The number of advisory questions increased structurally, with various cases ranging from complex family disputes to Consumer Disputes. The telephone rush extended from early morning to late evening, seven days a week, creating a continuous high volume of work.
HBM Juristen has been open for many years considerably longer than any other legal practice in the Netherlands. This wide availability was a conscious choice, motivated by the high social need and the many people who had no legal safety net outside regular office hours. This provides a unique and intensive form of accessibility that did not exist in the sector.
Although institutions such as Het Juridisch Loket are subsidized from public funds, HBM Juristen has financed this extensive service entirely on its own. For almost six years now, we have provided legal advice free of charge to anyone who needed it, completely voluntarily and without any form of subsidy. In this way, HBM lawyers have consciously invested in social accessibility and in providing direct legal support at times when other facilities were not available. And we continue to do so.
Adjustment as of February 1, 2026
In order to continue to guarantee the quality and accuracy of our services, the times for free legal advice will soon be reduced. We remain open seven days a week, so that accessibility remains at a high level while the available hours can be used more purposefully for our clients at home and abroad.
